| The Samos product range uses PCI-8 AE system boards configured in a PCI chassis to build multi-channel AE testing and monitoring systems. The CPU/graphics board is an industry standard plug-in, so as CPU and graphics performances increase the systems are easily upgraded by replacing the board. The PCI AE boards are connected direct to the system PCI bus, building a powerful, distributed processing, intelligent, front-end, leaving the PC to handle storage, graphics, networking, and operator interaction.
Samos systems have independent AE channels each with 16-bit resolution, up to 1MSPS sampling, 200kHz bandwidth, four High Pass and four Low Pass software controlled filters, Auto Sensor Test, and pre-amplifier power. On each board powerful FPGA’s provide the feature extraction and digital signal processing power.
Parallel waveform processing is standard, including data streaming. Each board has one instrumentation input (16-bit, x1 to x1000 gain, offset, and filter, for LVDT, strain gauge etc) , and one 16-bit 10KHz AD input, plus digital I/O.
Direct connection to the PCI bus ensures rapid data transfer, no intermediate bus to slow down transfer (Direct PCI ~50% faster than PCMCIA).
Any PC with a full-size industry standard PCI slot will take the PCI-8 system board.
MicroSamos chassis: Takes 1-3 PCI-8 AE boards, providing 8,16, or 24 AE channels, plus instrumentation inputs (for LVDT, strain gauge etc) , and 16-bit AD inputs. Connects to a notebook PC via its PCMCIA port. Optional 7-15 volt operation.
Samos-48 chassis: Takes 1-6 PCI-8 system boards, 8-48 AE channels. Activity LED’s, audio, network, CD, and built-in keyboard.
DiSP-64 chassis: Takes 1-8 PCI-DSP system boards, 8-64 AE channels. Activity LED’s, audio, CD, and network.
